L'Orastrana - music and poetry lab from Italy since 1993
lab started its activity in 1993 from the mind of Carlo Natali
(Cnat) and Marco Corsetti
, which main goal it's the dedication to poetry and to improvvisation music.
Today L'Orastrana collective is composed by Carlo Natali
, electronic music composer and poet, the bass guitar virtuoso Mauro Rocchi
and the electronic music producer Thomas Graber
, and they still make live music/poetry performances all around Italy and releases their music on the net through Creative Commons License.
Since the beginning, the Orastrana collective always worked on the interaction between music and poetry, inspired in some way by the ancient tradition of the parakataloghé and partially by the modern conception of jam session, in the way we intend it since the beat era, payin' attention to the musical influences by every member of the collective, that range from minimal, space jazz to the traditional/experimental electronica, from the slow and deep dub beats to the most accurated & elaborated ambient music.
All that, in the name of the improvvisation.
The philosophy at the base of the Orastrana's live sessions is that the happening has to be considered an unique event, unrepeatable. Doesn't have to be something that anyone would expect, a serial event, where the apex of the unexpected it's the different order of the songs in a playlist, where the art dies, swallowed by the routine.
